Hard At Work and Play

With summer in full swing, and July underway many Christmas performers are taking advantage of “Christmas in July” events. Who doesn’t want to see Santa and Mrs. Claus in the summer? Unlike December sightings of the jolly old elf and his lovely wife, summer encounters are almost always a total surprise. These encounters invoke an excitement of joy and wonder in both children and adults alike, bringing a smile, wink, and nod of approval.

In addition to summer portrayal, many Santa and Mrs. Clauses are hard at work in preparation for the coming holiday season. With in person and on-line training sessions, these dedicated performers are honing their skills to bring the magic and spirit of Christmas this holiday season. From storytelling, magic, reading skills, and practicing the iconic “HOHOHO” there is nary an artist not gearing up.

During this time especially we are trading tips on perfecting our looks and demeanor. Delighting and inspiring each other on what we are doing and the plans we are making for this Christmas. Networking is a huge deal this time of year, as we set out to book events and fulfill the needs of the communities we live in. Discussing with photographers our shared vision of bringing and creating magical moments for families, talking with event coordinators, park officials, elected officials, moms and dads. Indeed much work is going on behind the scenes!

So keep your eyes open this summer for Santa and Mrs. Claus. You may find them in some highly unexpected places. Places like a baseball game, throwing out the 1st pitch. At the beach enjoying the water in their bathing suits. At your local grocery store, receiving donations for food pantries. Community shelters assisting in programs for members of the community in need. Home town parades, and more!

Wishing you all a safe, happy and fun filled summer!
