Studio Update

With painting finished I began setting furniture in the studio. I have an unexpected delay. Upon opening one of the cherry bookcases I discovered that it was missing all of the hardware to put it together. A quick call the company and it is now on its way to me. In the meantime I turned to creating a chimney for the fireplace.

Not being able to find a good match of prefab faux brick to go with the electric fireplace I opted to create my own using foam board insulation. Most of today was spent carving the facade face into it and then painting it to match. It is currently set out to dry and when dry I will put it into place on the wall behind the fireplace.

The tree has been brought in and again I hit a small snag. the top half of the tree lights would not light up. So I swapped that tree with one I had restrung last year. A few pinecones, red berries, and some greenery has been added to the tree. I will continue to adorn it with some other decorations in the coming days.

Once the final bookcase is built and in place I can begin to adjust the track lighting and fine tune the area. There is currently ample lighting, so it will just be a matter of positioning the spot lights to the desired locations.
