Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the 2025 Virtual Santa Summit, a six-hour event hosted by the World Santa Claus Network (WSCN). And let me tell you—WOW! What a power-packed, heart-opening, and mind-expanding experience it was.
This year’s summit was focused around random acts of kindness. A powerful lineup of speakers with a variety of backgrounds and reach, each speaker brought something profoundly special. Let me share a bit about what I took away:
Kimberly Moore – Answering Santa Wishes in Real Life
Kimberly’s stories of answering letters to Santa moved me to tears. She reminded us that this role isn’t just about make-believe—it’s about believing in others and turning kindness into action. Her work made me dream bigger—of reaching beyond the magic chair and into the real lives of those who need Christmas the most.
Thomas Sheerin – Bringing Kindness to Your Community
Tom’s humble spirit was a quiet but mighty force. He reminded me that kindness isn’t always grand—it’s often in the everyday moments. A gentle word, a thoughtful gesture, a legacy of care that builds over time. His example helped me reflect on the long game—of not just being Santa, but living the values Santa represents.
Harry Budgell – Thinking EVEN Bigger: Community-Based Kindness
Harry challenged us to look at the bigger picture. What if Santa isn’t just a character, but a community leader? What if we don’t just visit the places we serve—but help shape them? His message lit a fire in me to think about what more I can do to make my community a more joyful, united place—year-round.
Kevin Curtin – Building a Kindness Brand on Social Media
Kevin’s session opened my eyes to new possibilities. Social media isn’t just for marketing—it’s a megaphone for joy, authenticity, and love. He showed us how to build a brand that reflects the true heart of Santa, one post, one story, one ripple of kindness at a time.
Liz Ruch – Kindness for the Community of Clauses
Liz brought it home to the Claus family. She reminded us that while we pour ourselves into serving others, we must also nurture each other. Her message stirred in me a dream of a more connected Claus community—one where we lift each other up, celebrate our wins, and hold space in times of need.
Lori Dinwiddie – Mrs. Claus & Community Kindness
Lori gave voice to the often-overlooked but incredibly powerful presence of Mrs. Claus. Her stories were filled with grace and strength. I walked away dreaming of how Mrs. Claus can be more fully present in our appearances—not just as a sidekick, but as a co-creator of joy and connection.
Brooke Jones – The Psychology of Random Acts of Kindness
Brooke showed us the why behind what we do. The science, the soul, and the ripple effects of kindness were beautifully explained. She gave us tools to craft moments that stick, that go beyond the photo and into the heart.
Mk Haley – Random Acts of Kindness: Practical Application and Production Considerations
Mk helped me see our work through a new lens: as art. She reminded us that kindness can be designed, scripted, and intentionally crafted into everything we do. That planning for magic isn’t fake—it’s the foundation of a truly unforgettable experience.
By the end of the summit, I was left deeply moved. Inspired. Recharged.
I am inspired further to look for ways to impact my community and those whoI visit with. To be a Santa who does not just show up—but shows up with purpose. Of a portrayal that isn’t just magical—but meaningful. Of a season that doesn’t just sparkle—but sticks with people long after the snow melts.
This Santa Summit reminded me that kindness isn’t an afterthought. It’s the mission. And it starts with intention.
