As the golden days of summer begin to wind down here in Oregon, I can feel autumn just around the corner. The air grows a little crisper, the evenings a little earlier, and soon enough, the familiar magic of the season will be upon us. While the Christmas season is still a few months away, preparations at the North Pole (and here in Sandy, Oregon) are already well underway.
I have a few exciting things on my calendar that I’d love to share with you. Next week, on September 10th and 11th, I’ll be teaching a segment at Claus Cram. This gathering of Claus portrayal artists is always such an inspiring event, and I’m honored to contribute and share in the camaraderie of fellow Santas and Mrs. Clauses. It’s always a time of learning, laughter, and building the kind of spirit we carry into every event come December.
Later this month, I’ll be stepping into a whole new adventure—filming my first-ever commercial! While I can’t yet share details about the company or the concept, I can tell you that it promises to be both very interesting and a lot of fun. To say I’m excited is an understatement—it’s a completely new way to share the magic of Santa, and I can’t wait to experience it firsthand.
On the wardrobe side, I’ve been in discussion with my seamstress, and she assures me that my suits will be ready in the next week. Having suits tailored with care and detail is such an important part of my work—it helps me embody Father Christmas in a way that feels authentic, magical, and timeless.
And of course, autumn also means it’s time to begin preparations for Santa mini sessions with families in Portland, Gresham, Sandy, Estacada, Boring and other areas around Clackamas and East Multnomah County area. In the coming weeks, I’ll be reaching out to photographers and setting up opportunities for families to capture those special Santa moments. These sessions are always such joyful times, full of smiles, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Whether it’s home visits in Sandy, corporate Christmas parties in Portland, tree lightings in Gresham, or photography sessions in Clackamas County, I’m looking forward to bringing the magic of Christmas to life across our community this year.
As the days shorten and we move into the cozy embrace of autumn, I’m grateful for the opportunities ahead and for the chance to share this magical journey with all of you. The best is yet to come, and I can’t wait to see the sparkle in your eyes this Christmas season.
Until then—may your days be filled with warmth, kindness, and just a touch of Christmas spirit.
